With all the stresses that go into planning a wedding, not to mention your daily life; it’s easy to see why relaxing and exotic destination wedding would be at the top of any bride-to-be’s list.
However, this can lead to a bit of a conundrum since there are so many great places from which to choose. It’s easy to get lost when trying to decide on the perfect wedding destination! So, I have made a list of the top 5 most popular and desirable places for an exotic destination wedding.
The Fiji Islands
The Fiji Islands are a tropical and mind-blowingly beautiful place to have a destination wedding. Fiji is an island country in Melanesia in the South Pacific Ocean about 1,300 miles northeast of New Zealand. With stunning white sand beaches and an atmosphere completely removed from anything resembling your daily life, the Fiji Islands certainly tops my list of exotic wedding destinations.
Santorini Island
Santorini Island is one of the most breathtaking locations in the world. With the backdrop of the deep blue Aegean Sea, this island in Greece is the ideal place for romance and relaxation. The stunning history and architecture of Fira and its Cliffside buildings offer a whole host of wedding memories you will cherish for a lifetime. However, there are very few venues available on the island; so you need to book early if you want it to be a reality!
Hawaii
Hawaii is one of the most popular and desirable places in the world. Hawaii’s diverse natural scenery, warm tropical climate, abundance of public beaches, oceanic surroundings, and active volcanoes make it a popular destination for tourists, surfers, biologists, and volcanologists alike. Of course, ,it’s also a great place to plan your perfect beach wedding! Completely removed from any large land masses in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, Hawaii’s famous beaches a romantic and picturesque location for a destination wedding.
Phuket Thailand
Phuket Island off the coast of Thailand was made infamous in the movie “The Beach”. Nearly untouched by man, the one and only resort on the island was built during the making of the film to house the actors and crew. While traveling to Phuket Island involves a lot of time and various modes of transportation, it’s unparalleled beauty and seclusion makes it number 4 on my list of top exotic wedding destinations.
The Bahamas
While not actually just one destination, the Bahamas consist of over 3,000 islands. They offer some of the finest white sand beaches and crystal clear water in the world. The shallow waters surrounding the island chain makes for excellent snorkeling, and the selection of 5 star resorts is second to none. If you’re looking for a place with beautiful scenery, perfect weather, and a plethora of fun activities to delve into; then you may want to consider putting the Bahamas on your list of exotic wedding destinations.
Things to Remember When Choosing Between Exotic Wedding Destinations
Most people focus on the beauty of a given location when choosing between the various exotic wedding destinations available. While that’s important, there are many other factors to consider. For instance, maybe you have your heart set on having wedding sparklers during your beach reception. If so, you’ll need to make sure they are available before you book your event. Similarly, some brides like to shop for their dress at their chosen location. If there aren’t many shopping options available, you may be out of luck. Remember to look at every aspect of your celebration before booking so you don’t end up disappointed!
Exotic wedding destinations are almost always at the top of a bride’s wish list. However, they are expensive and require careful planning and consideration ahead of time. However, if you do the hard work, you can choose the perfect place and have the destination wedding of your dreams. Good luck!
